Hmm, it does seem that there's a problem somewhere, but I don't know how
to fix it.
I had previously purged everything from kde, so the output below was

Thanks to LGM6230 advices,
I worked around the problem and made my Logitech DiNovo Media Desktop
1.0 (bluetooth keyboard+mediapad+mouse) work with Ubuntu Dapper 6.06.1.
The only thing I needed to change from a stock install is (requires
remote shell access or a spare wired keyboard) :
$ diff /et
> I now have full Bluetooth functionality and can finally access to my mobile
> phone
> via bluetooth !
PS: That's because I previously had to disable Bluetooth altogether to
use my Logitech set.

FE21M. I think however a shift is needed between the hal values(0->20) and the
smartimmers values (1->21).

apt_0.6.16.2ubuntu9.debdiff needs to use version ubuntu8.1 because:
python-apt | 0.6.16.2ubuntu9 | edgy | all
(apparently an ASBA that was not cleaned up). But LP has a version
record anyway, so we cannot use this version number any more.

This problem needs to be fixed in both dapper and edgy. I added the
according tasks. We could work around the problem in edgy by fixing it
in the upgrader for edgy->feisty upgrades, but a regular fix would be
much prefered.

I can confirm this bug. I have an Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS system, and I have
updated it just now (30 Jan 2007 09:49AM GMT) with:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
and then I ran
apt-get install samba
and get the same account_policy_get errors as in the description.
