Yes, seems to be a dupe of bug #32415. apparently this is fixed starting
kernel 2.6.19, so your best best would be to install / upgrade to Ubuntu
7.04 when it comes out, wait for a maintenance release of Ubuntu 6.06
LTS, or compile/install a newer kernel. Current kernel for Edgy is
2.6.17.

Updating the BIOS from 3A19 to 3A23 did not solve this problem for me.
Since the card works under Dapper, would it be worth including dmesg
output from a Dapper boot to compare with the Edgy boot? Would it help
us to narrow down the source of the problem?

currently the edubuntu iso images are called live and install. please
rename them to server and desktop, while the description on the download
page should talk about "classroom server" and not hide that we use a gui
in an edubuntu server setup.
I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 "Edgy Eft".
I'll work out how to do that, and test it out.

sorry for the extreme delay. Finally there is a fixed package in the
dapper-proposed archive, which needs to be tested. It would be great, if
you could help testing and leave a comment on bug #72951 if the package
solves the problems (or also if it doesn't work for you).

I can confirm this on the Samsung R55 which is also not producing any
keycodes for the following hot keys:
fn+F2 (Show battery)
fn+F10 (Etiquette mode)
fn+up (Brightness up)
fn+down (Brightness down)
These keys could not be recorded using all the methods provided at:
