Adding a Provides may or may not be appropriate, depending on the
packages involved. At any rate, it won't work for versioned
dependencies.
In general, dependencies like these should be adjusted in Ubuntu to use
the official product names.

I've committed the change upstream; the bug is now closed. The
documentation will reflect that ctrl-alt-click can be used in some cases
if alt-click was taken by the window manager. Also encourages them to
fix their window manager to use Meta-click instead of Alt-click.

it down) "Partitioning the free space chosen has failed, too many
primary partitions". I clicked ok

It is not Synaptic, it is the other one. I did not see a name, just
Update Manager. On the top toolbar menu: System>Administration>Update
Manager.

My preferred browser is seamonkey. If I change this to firefox then I
can open the weblinks in firefox. However they don't open in seamonkey
even when it is the default browser.

Something has changed. Before I temporarily switched to firefox as the
default browser nothing would happen when I clicked on the links, but
now when I click on one of the links it tries to open a new instance of
seamonkey. I know this because seamonkey still does the old mozilla
suite thing of ask
Very nice. I've tried to duplicate the problems with no failures noted.
I am very happy that general performance seems to have improved.
Drag-n-drop from one menu to another now works well. It never did before
for me.
