I just realized why it is "3 out of 4 sessions": Because the update check is a scheduled task, and doesn't start at the beginning of every session. If a session starts after the scheduled check was supposed to run, the crash occurs. I can generate the crash at will by running update-manager. The odd thing is, I had an indication earlier today than there were updates available, but I ignored it (too many other things to do). Now I get the crash every time I try to do anything with the updates. -- Python crashed when I start Ubuntu Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/74176 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
