If X freezes and never comes back then it's not an xscreensaver bug.
Regular user programs should never be able to do that to X.

However, I believe the resolution issue is not a bug. If you have an nVIDIA
card, try installing the binary drivers. First, I would try reconfiguring X11
by running the following command in the terminal.

never popped up. In fact, when I was investigating what happened, the
manual opened and it crashed. Something fishy is going on. ;)

I'm on the finished Edgy and the problem does not seem to be too bad.
On my machine, that site (http://www.vu.lt/ivykiai/) causes Firefox to
use around 20% to 30% CPU. This may not be ideal, but my system is
still quite usable. Konqueror does not have near the spike in CPU usage
when visiting the
Sitsofe, sorry, but did you ever tried playing with dri/opengl? Things
like this are not that uncommon...

I cannot read (what I think is) German, so I don't know how to assist
you better. I tried installing graphviz-cairo and I was able to
successfully remove it. You must have done something to it somehow. It
is even the same version as mine. Could you try translating the text or

I tried it and it works for me. I think I know what the problem is. Are
you trying to backup your home drive to /media/(something) or the drive
that appears in nautilus? You cannot back up something to /dev/sda1 as
that is just the device address. If you did not know, it saves the
backup as a .dar
