Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.19-6-generic
The 2.6.19 kernel and restricted madwifi driver now in feisty does not work with my laptop's (built in) wireless chip, an Atheros AR5005G according to lspci. I see "irq 19: nobody cared" from the kernel shortly after boot, and the card then doesn't send or receive packets. The message suggests trying the "irqpoll" boot option, but if I do that the system hangs immediately after the keyboard driver loads. I am stuck on 2.6.17 (and therefore must put udev on hold) due to this bug. I will attach complete dmesg output. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.19 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- [madwifi] Atheros AR5005G doesn't work with 2.6.19 (fine with 2.6.17) https://launchpad.net/bugs/73828 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
