I ran the Ubuntu 6.06 i386 Live CD on a system with a 6.5GB hard drive
which had previously been in use on another system. I don't know if the
disk was physically bad or what, but I got insane amounts of errors from

that the supposedly autonomous Live CD should care one bit what's on the
hard drive of the host system, at least during initial bootstrapping.

Pressing Shift+Backspace crashes XGL for me, bringing me back to the login
screen. I found a forum post that told me to put the following in
System->Preferences->Sessions->Startup Programs:

especially the dialog-cancel icon. I put them in tango-common because I was
curious about the effect of these somewhat unorthodox metaphors, but they were

Windows, via the File Manager. In Windows you would use Explorer
settings to manage your associations. The same goes for Kubuntu/KDE, you

I have the same problem running Dapper Drake on an Intel Core 2 Duo
desktop (Asus P5WDG2 WS Pro motherboard) with Nvidia graphics on the
latest 2.6.15-26-amd64-xeon kernel package 2.6.15-26.47

Thanks for your bug. If you pick a another session then GNOME (or
Default) from the login screen, do you have the issue too? Looks rather
an xorg issue than a gdm one

I forgot to mention that I have this problem in 32-bit architecture - P4 with
HyperThreading enabled.
My system is Kubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 (with all updates) - (2.6.15-26.46 and
2.6.15-26.47). All previous kernels had this problem, too.
