Had sometimes no sound after boot/rehibernate on my T43 on Ubuntu 7.04.
The workaround from Jericho of adding snd_intel8x0 to /etc/modules seems
to work for me.

I'm having the same problem on a Thinkpad R51.
I've seen some reports elsewhere that people have been able to fix this
by disabling mic and line jack sense in kmix or gnome volume controls
but I don't appear to have those options in either of them. (I'm running
Xubuntu but installed the KDE and Gn

How do we apply this patch? Or is there an update coming soon that will
hit the repositories? My earlier workaround was a premature success.
The sound output comes and goes and there's no common symptom. I still
get no joy from my soundcard.

I added this to my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
options snd_intel8x0 model=auto
I rebooted, but still no sound. However, my snd_intel8x0 module did not load,
possibly due to this new config.
The good news is after I did a 'mod
That's because your PCM is muted and zeroed. I'm referring to a
completely different issue that really does prevent you from getting
audible audio _at all_.

Atlis, your issue is resolved by muting 'Headphone Jack Sense'. This is
a regression from Edgy, where the T43's SSID was blacklisted for HP/Line
jack sense. This will be resolved before Feisty RC.
