This is the exact same thing that happens to me. When I maximize a
window and then select another window, bringing the main window out of
Focus, the title bar disappears. It seems as I was reading, Metacity
themes cause this. I'd like a patch or an official fix instead of just
workarounds. I can m
I have also been experiencing this bug.
Evandro's workaround appears to have worked for me.

If you disable the Maximize Effect from wobbly settings, the problem
occours again. The worst thing is that the window close button sometimes
does not close the 'top' window but a 'lower' one. This way I lost a few

I have a similar problem, but it's much more predictable. If I have
"Use Metacity Theme" selected (default in Feisty), the title bar always
becomes blank-white when I maximize, and is drawn correctly again when I
restore (by clicking on the invisible restore button). If I use the "GL

Follow up to previous comment:
The desktop-effects capplet simply disables the wobbly plugin
(/apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins) if you choose
to disable wobbly effects. This is what's causing problems.

I also see this bug. After maximizing a window I can no longer use its

This happens to me too.
The problem is: whenever I maximize a window, I cannot click any of the buttons
