I have the same problem with driver nvidia-glx-173.14.12-1-0ubuntu5.1, Intrepid Ibex and NVidia Geforce FX5200. I think that the fix is only for driver 177 (for newer cards) but "not so" old cards still have the problem. In the attachment there are two screenshots of the Firefox tittlebar with the error.
