Just updating old bugs that we're not going to fix. The graphite theme
is no longer available with the current version of MythTV that's
packaged in the current stable Ubuntu release (MythTV 0.25/ Ubuntu
precise). So we won't be fixing this bug.

If Settings/Appearance/Paint Engine is Qt, then Graphite doesn't work.
If Settings/Appearance/Paint Engine is OpenGL, then Graphite does work.

Changed frontend back to Graphite theme.
Watched Recordings page still doesn't update status icons.
So Graphite is definitely still broken.

auto-builds. However I'm fond of my myth box working, and since this
is a combined be/fe, would want to be selective about which packages
are installed, as I don't want to break the backend with minimally

Thanks for the report. It looks like there has actually been some
activity upstream on the graphite theme on the 0.22-fixes branch
(http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches/release-0-22-fixes/myththemes).
Would you mind activating Mythbuntu auto-builds to check if those fixes
helped
