I have the same problem, the same hardware. When I installed Karmic Beta, i got the microphone working, changing a bit of things in alsa- mixer. I don't remember wich beta version it was. Maybe RC1... Then when I installed the final version, it didn't work anymore... There has been a downgrade! --
