Hi, I tried David Sauvage's above suggestion of selecting xfce session in gdm, but unfortunately, it did not work for me. However, I can confirm that the other workaround, that of replacing "xfce4" with "xfce" in the .dmrc file in my Home folder, worked for me! If you want, you can see my .dmrc

I tried the solution above, by first putting in the terminal: sudo mousepad /usr/share/xsessions/xfce.desktop and then following the instructions of replacing Exec=startxfce4 with Exec=/usr/bin/startxfce4 I then closed the file and restarted the computer, but the same error came up and I had to
