Hi,

well i thing that i did was the following

$ sudo gdmsetup
if the "general" tab,  unselect "the default session" box , then select "the
default session" box,
then select GNOME, then Xfce session in the session list
then close the gdmsetup window. then restart the X service ...

I don't know if it could help you.
