Eddie Hung: Your'e right. I fixed the resuspending issue by setting
/apps/gnome-power-manager/actions/critical_battery to value "nothing".
But I still have the original problem.

I am starting to see this again on Lucid 2.6.32-9 too, on the same system.

I never had this problem with a fresh install of 32-bit Karmic but after
some updates (including kernel ones) I now have the issue on my Gateway
NX100X laptop. If I have "critically" low battery power with the laptop

Ok, here I am.
Now I'm sure it's a kernel bug. Now I'm using the Hardy kernel (Linux
meleeisland 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux) and suspend is working both on ram and disk.
