Well, I managed to fix mine. There is a conflict with the new cx18
module in 2.6.27 and the nvidia binary driver. The cx18 is the driver
for Hauppauge TV tuner cards. I have a Hauppauge 1600, so it was being
loaded at boot. See more here:

I tried your suggestion for Hardy and it didn't work. See bug #238191
for details on the hardy bug. OpenSUSE sees my tv tuner as graphics
card. and prevents me from enabling nvidia driver. Hardy screen goes
blank at trying start X with nvidia driver enabled and I have onboard
Ethernet enabled. An

consider Intrepid unusable until this bug is fixed."

Please follow these steps:
1) turn on your computer (make sure that all your device i.e. lan, nvidia card,
tv tuner, are enabled)
2) after you see the BIOS you will see the GRUB menu which contains a list of
kernels that you can use to boot into Ubuntu. Select the 1st entry with your
keyboard (d
