I get the same bug in:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009080315
Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.13
After reading the above and testing out various bits and pieces I can
confirm it is related to sqlite locks over NFS.
I have not tested with NFSv4 and still use NFSv
There seems to have been a regression on the 3.0.x branch, but according to
this bug, it's been fixed in 3.0.12:

Hi,
I had similar issue, I believe it was related to sqlite locks over NFS.

Same troubles when firefox is launched in safe-mode.

Interesting, I'm not sure whether I was using v3 or v4 when I
encountered this issue. I'll have to retest with v4 when I get a free
moment.

Well we may be looking at different issues. As for me, I just confirmed
that my issue is non-existent when using NFSv4.

Hmm, no, I cannot reproduce a broken FF without the prior existence of a
FF profile when exporting /home over NFS. Did you confirm your uid
mapping on the NFS server is correct?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't expressing myself very well. When I said it won't

I am having the same trouble. You say FF will not work over NFS when
you do not already have a working profile. Well, this could be a
different way of expressing the fact that Firefox 3 won't work when
/home is exported over NFS and the system experiences a cold shutdown.
