Thanks for the note Pavel. Sorry we were unable to resolve this for you
while the hardware was still working. I'll go ahead and close this bug
for now since you no longer have the hardware. Thanks.

Hello,
thanks for the interest; it's not an issue anymore, since that old PC
"died" and was thrown away. And therefore, it cannot be tested with the
latest Ubuntu release...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?

I confirm this bug, I burned the alternate daily image (from 30th August) of
Intrepid Ibex on both a CD and DVD disc and in both cases at the very beginning
of the installation process the installer says it can't find the CD. My
hardware is pretty new so I guess more people will experience this.
Hello,
I don't have the hardware, on which the bug had arisen, it broke down,
so I won't be able to test it.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
