The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable

I have a standard Lenovo n200 with few kernels from 2.6.24 to 2.6.26rc4..but i
usually hold the -generic one to make some tests.
With kernel 2.6.24 (vanilla) is all ok..with 2.6.24-17-generic is ok...problems

I can confirm the bug even on kernel vanilla > 2.6.25
U can normally transfer files from devices to the system (and viceversa)
without X and everythink works great
With X running (and nvidia card) after few seconds the system got freeze with

When i start a file transfer to my external HD using nautilus and
immediately switch to console, everything goes normally, so does if i
directly

It has not happened for a ~30 minute lapse of time yesterday possibly
because it only made very few write operations (some almost stalled
torrent downloads and the copy of two small files) though it read much
data (an intensive torrent check file integrity and a lot of
Oh well, i've also updated the kernel to 2.6.24-17, so i can't be sure
what has fixed the problem...

I've forgot to mention that this bug only happens under 2.6.24. With
