Same problem here in oocalc. The displayed characters are sometimes
wrong, but when clicking on the cell, the content shown in the toolbar
is correct.
Restarting OpenOffice sometimes solve the problem with some characters
(but not always all of them).

This often happens to me, too. Like joehill, I often write documents
that include transliterated Arabic (and/or Arabic script). To answer
Chris's question, the problem occurs for me even when only one document
is open.

There is not sufficient information here to reproduce this problem so at
least IMHO it should not be marked as 'Triaged'. Apparently this bug is
transient enough that even the submitter can't reproduce it reliably. It
might be related to the weird font corruption bug that is also filed in

Again, I'm using an intel driver on two computers I've had this problem
on, for what it's worth.
I'm using Hardy and my initial reaction is that it's not happening with
as many different letters as it used to, but it still happens more or
less consistently. I.e., if I type a string of various acc
Ok, thanks for the information. Yea it shouldn't be the video driver

My laptop has an "Intel 945" graphics card, and the driver is "i810".
(But somehow I doubt that a video driver problem could result in the
wrong characters being stored in a PDF file. I can imagine that the
correct characters could be displayed wrongly, but not stored wrongly in
a file.)

What video driver are all of you using that see this problem?
Thanks,

I regret saying that this bug is still reproducible, as of 1:2.4.0-3ubuntu6
version.
I have exactly the same problems reported by "joehill" in his first posts.
Any idea?

It happens maybe 30% of the time. I'm using the i810 driver on both my
laptop and my desktop, and I've experienced this problem with both. My
desktop is running Feisty and my laptop is running Gutsy, and I've been
experiencing this problem for quite a while now. Another strange thing
is that the
How often does this problem happen for you? Also what video driver are
you using?
I was not able to reproduce this problem but if it isn't a constant
problem then it may be possible that I wouldn't be able to anyway.
Thanks,
Chris Cheney

These are the characters as they are intended to be displayed, copied
and pasted from openoffice.org to gedit. As you can see, they copy and
paste correctly.
