This often happens to me, too. Like joehill, I often write documents that include transliterated Arabic (and/or Arabic script). To answer Chris's question, the problem occurs for me even when only one document is open.
When the problem occurs, if I shut down OpenOffice (including the quickstarter) then restart it by double-clicking on the same document again, generally the problem remains. But if I restart OpenOffice using the item in the Applications menu, then reopen the document using File->Open from within OpenOffice, the problem goes away. (I think, but I'm not absolutely sure, that this always works.) I've also noticed that when the problem occurs, it affects different characters in different fonts; thus changing the font of an incorrectly displayed character (e.g. from DejaVu Serif to Georgia or vice versa) can cause it to be displayed correctly. -- openoffice.org Accented displayed incorrectly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191292 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
