The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would

Rename intel-rng.ko to intel-rng.ko.bak, so the system can't found it during

Hi again,
In the mean time I succeded in installing the UBUNT 6.06 drake version and it
works flawless on my Hp Omnibook 6100 laptop!!
(Should have burried Windows earlier!!)
Why cant I get 7.10 working, it still shuts down during installation at the
"hardware drivers" moment.

Same problem here only worse.
During installation of UBUNTU 7.10 on my HP omnibook 6100, the thing shuts
down.
Specific at the piont where it displays "installing hardware drivers" suddenly
shutdown of the system.
Bios is set default, iso installation disk is ok.

The issue can't be reproduced by booting with the 7.10 LiveCD, though it
still exists when booting off the hard drive.
The LiveCD of HH Alpha 2 boot properly (I tried it several times to make
sure).
To test for this fix, I wiped the drive and attempted to install HH

Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated
version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron
Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ .
You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you
can, please verify if
The Hardy Heron Alpha2 release will be coming out soon (around Dec 20).
It will have an updated version of the kernel. It would be great if you
could test with this new release and verify if this issue still exists.
