Thanks for the update kenny. It sounds like things are working for you now. I agree that it would seem a bit much to test when you are no longer using the old CD-writer. Lets just go ahead and close this report. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix ** Ch

Hello there, To overcome the problems I've been having above, I have changed my CD- writer, from the Yamaha CRW8424E that was causing the problems, to a more up to date make/model that was unused in another PC. My new system seems to be quite happy using Hardy. No boot problems, CD- writer is rec

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable

Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if

Hi Kenny, Thank you for your report. I'm retargeting this bug towards the upcoming Hardy kernel and have tagged it as "hardy-kernel-candidate". Also, rather than inlining your lspci -vvnn and dmesg output, can you attach the information? It makes it easier for us to parse. For more information
