I saw this same issue on 3 October, 2018 under Ubuntu 18.04. Software
Updater notifies that updates are available and that 1.5 MB need to be
downloaded, but shows nothing in the list of software to be updated.

I have observed this after my last update (July 26, 2018).
I did an update with apt-get (as usual) on August 11, but the newest messag of
the updater still shows no deteails

The issue is not complete resolved - today morning I got a window pop up
saying "this computer is fully updated". Puzzled as to why would it show
