In Xubuntu 18.04 "system-config-samba" is still started with "gksu":
$ cat /usr/share/applications/system-config-samba.desktop | grep Exec
Exec=gksu system-config-samba
But "gksu" has been removed from the repositories.
Starting "system-config-samba" with "sudo" unfortunate
Wouldn't it be nice to fix it also in 16.04? As LTS it's supposed to
receive bug fixes for the next four and a half years to come.

Goto "Edit" -> "Preferences", then tab "Music" and select "Custom
settings" for "Format settings". Choose a quality level (higher is
better). That did the trick for me.

Update to what I wrote a few minutes ago:
(1) The address book content is actually displayed, no matter if the
error message was displayed or not.
(2) If I restart e-addressbook-factory without COUCHDB_DEBUG_MESSAGES
set, the problem also disappears, i.e.
$ killall -9 e-addressbook-factory
$ /u
The same happens here for a Google address book, included by extension
"Google Contacts". If I restart e-addressbook-factory with debug
information enabled as described above, the message does not occur and I
only get the following output:

I have a similiar problem here when trying to connect to GMail IMAP

using the development release did not show any improvement. But
formatting all partitions with ext3 instead of ext4 solved the problem.

application. Set the following two environment variables to the root
directory:

"/usr/lib/gps/dbimp" is not installed. But in fact it is (at least on my
PC).
