Return does allow booting from the USB. I created an Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

another console and kill Xorg. GDM reloads and the resolution is

(There is a field for username, password and workgroup) The printer does

I've got the same problem on my Samsung R730, I suspect it's gnome-
power-manager because the screen brightness does not dim when I unplug
the AC after Ubuntu has loaded and it does not get brighter if I plug it
in when Ubuntu has loaded.
Also, Fn + Up / Down should alter the brightness, but it do

My current "workaround" is having a laptop with Hardy running on it,
ideally I want to upgrade to Karmic or Fedora 12, something which I
can't do right now because only the Hardy version of tightvnc viewer
will work with SC.

Just to clear this up, it was when I double clicked an ISO that it
failed, however something seems to have fixed it. I suspect it may have
been something other than Brasero. It works now, and I can't seem to
reproduce the problem.

I double click an ISO image in Nautilus, Brasero offers to burn the
image to CD however it is never successful. The CD Writer doesn't even
query the disc or attempt to write. This occurs with any ISO images.

seems to lie in the fact that whenever we tried to do a lookup / ping
for a host on the .local domain, the system would append .local to it

On 64 bit Hardy Heron when trying to unlock the Users and Groups applet
to make changes, the password dialog wobbles as if the password is
wrong, even if entering the correct one. Trying to load the applet as
root via sudo means that the Unlock button is greyed out.
