I noticed something like this as well, though I am not sure it is the same bug.
When I use sudo to run a command and enter one or more newline characters
before typing in my password the characters are shown. This happens both in
lxterminal and on a tty. To reproduce this behavior run sudo -k wi

Okay, it seems this has nothing to do with the network manager used at
all (just froze after installing wicd) and I'm not sure if it's related
to the driver issue. I have no idea what the hell is going on.

I believe I have the same problem. I think it is related to issues with the
ath9k driver and network manager, because at first I had it happen after a few
minutes of being logged in.
Using wicd instead I had no lockups, but as long as Ubuntu One requires
