I noticed something like this as well, though I am not sure it is the same bug.
When I use sudo to run a command and enter one  or more newline characters 
before typing in my password the characters are shown. This happens both in 
lxterminal and on a tty. To reproduce this behavior run sudo -k with any 
command. A few seconds later, the command proceeds normally. If I manage to 
type in my password before sudo proceeds, it is evaluated as correct.
