Banshee continues playing music after the UI is closed. There is no
minimized windows, or icons in the task tray.
To stop the music, I have to open a terminal and 'killall banshee' or
obviously find the process and kill it.
However, if I PAUSE the music, then close the GUI,
Doing a few other ping tests, option 6 definitely gives me the best
performance. Pinging one of Yahoo.com's servers, with option 6, ping
times stay below 40ms. Using options 1 or 2, ping times vary between
40ms upwards to 130ms. Average ping time with options 1 and 2 is over
80ms.

Problem was partially resolved via removing the kernel module (iwlagn
and iwl4965 drivers) and readding them with an option to disable 11n.
sudo rmmod -s iwlagn (or iwl4965)
sudo modprobe iwlagn (or iwl4965) 11n_disable=1
This is just a band-aide. This really needs to be investigated further.

Further info, after complete hard drive failure (unrelated, I hope), new
hard drive, and a 100% fresh install with all updates, issue still

I have no had an issue as of lately. However, my wireless signal seems
to degrade over the span of a few days. Rebooting resolves the issue and
brings the wireless signal back up to full strength. Doesn't seem to
affect usability, but incorrectly gauges signal strength. Even with the

I didn't have this problem whatsoever with 9.10. I upgraded from 9.10 to
10.04 and the problem arose. Every subsequent kernel upgrade doesn't fix
the issue. I'm using 2.6.32-24-generic right now, and still having the

Sorry, I'm unable to reproduce the crash anymore. I had installed Ubuntu
7.04 along with the latest version of gnome-system-tools from the Ubuntu
package repositories. I have since reinstalled a fresh copy of 7.04 to
correct the problem (which it has, among other problems). Thanks anyway.
