After a little bit of testing, it appears to have something to do with "Blank screen" selected when laptop lid is closed, and having "Lock screen when screen saver is active" deselected/disabled. I have left the "Blank Screen" option when laptop lid is closed enabled, however, re- enabled the Lock Screen when screen saver is active option, and I'm seemingly not having this issue. Will know more in a few days.
