Problem is somehow related to network manager. Disabling roaming mode and
changing Connection Settings to DHCP fixed the errors.

I just tried to boot without the "pci=nomsi" option. The regression is
still present in 2.6.24-18 kernel.

I had the same error when trying to install latest Hardy kernel to Gutsy system
(using pinning).
