I am getting python core dumps in an application (http://www.conduit-
project.org) I am developing. This is the first time I have ever seen
python seg fault.
The same application works fine on my laptop and always segfaults on my
desktop. Both are running edgy, my laptop is a i915 chipset, single
p.s. Its easier if you actually post the errors

OK, firstly, I am pretty sure you dont need the kernel source, the
headers will be fine. As of edgy kernel headers are installed by
default.
As long as you have build-essential (i.e. compiler) installed then you
should not need to do anything.
All i did was type make, and sudo make install

Confirming that this module fixes the brightness hotkeys.
Does not fix the volume up and down keys however. Any ideas on that one?

I tracked down sleep brokenness to X, which has now been fixed.
I will try the fix you suggested for the hotkeys.
Is there a probbability > 0 that this will make it into main?

In Edgy Beta 1
The panasonic acpi driver does not work / is not present in edgy beta 1.
This means I cannot adjust display brightness or any other function keys
(volume, etc)
This is a REGRESSION from dapper where hotkeys worked fine
Setting to Confimred because this bug appears in edgy beta 1 again...
