Binary package hint: usplash
Fresh install of Ubuntu Edgy beta 1
There is no Usplash boot screen on boot or shutdown
There are a few messages on boot, after the "Starting Up" message. One
about "acpid" and one about "no hw rng detected", the the "fsck check"
messaged before GDM starts. No pretty splash screen however :-(
After I have logged into GNOME there is the following listed on vt1
"Starting Up...."
"usplash: no usable theme found for 640x480
"screen init failed"
My laptop is a Panasoinic R4, i915 based, with i810 video driver, native
resolution of 1024x6768
