I went to install 12.04 on my 4gb netbook. First I had to edit
/usr/lib/ubiquity/plugins/misc.py to override the space check, next I ran out

What they should do is offer both kinds of packages concurrently:
php5.4 and php5.3
(this is kind of like they did with wine1.0 and wine1.2 supported)

I downloaded a text file with CRLF line endings. Pasted it from
gedit/geany (the result is the same) into a firefox textarea (in my case
the textarea was at http://pinyintools.zedwood.com/tojavascript ). When
you push submit you can see the lines
I think the problem didn't bother me as much in 10.04 because the
terminal had a rounded bottom which extended the target click area.

No offense, but marking this as won't fix doesn't address the larger
usability issue. The issue that your users expect an application to
work a certain way because of the way you presented the interface to
them, and it doesn't work that way.

I also have a dell t3400 workstation. When I come back to the machine after a
long time... the screensaver is on... i use a screensaver password when i
type it in and push enter... the following things have been known to happen:
1. machine wakes up from screensaver nicely
2. semi-freezes ctr

I used xforcevesa as a boot option on the 'try ubuntu without changing
anything' option worked and loaded into a live session.
