This bug freaked me out so much I re-formatted to EXT4 and started over.
I don't have a system that I can test this on now.
The bug appeared on a completely fresh install of 14.04 beta 2 and the
bug was still present in the release.
Unfortunately, I never had any experience with BTRFS
I have continued to use the private directory so far without hitch.
Using nautilus and other programs, it seems as long as I create a file
in the Private directory and don't move or copy it, i'm fine. I have my
.thunderbird directory inside Private and everything seems to work just
fine. I've only

1.set up an SSD with BTRFS for root and home (all default settings).

Ran into the same problem today.
bindfs has been showing up as "not upgradeable" ever since the upgrade
to oneiric, but i was just ignoring it. Today I uninstalled the natty
version (1.8 something) and tried to re-install the version in the
repos...no luck.

This issue is also affecting me. The Zeroconf Service Discovery panel
applet also shows no printers when "browse services on this machine" is
selected in the applet's advanced preferences.
I'm posting only to include another issue and wondering if it's related

I was able to manually correct this problem using ALT+LeftClick + Drag

I upgraded to the Jaunty RC on April 17, and had decent luck running DRI
and UXA on a dual-screen Virtual 2944x1200.
X did crash every couple of hours, but while it ran, the performance was
great, glxgears 1100+fps
During boot I was prompted with a warning, no valid partitions found on
/dev/sdc, hit ctrl-D to continue. Because this isn't a root partition,
I was able to continue booting with ctrl-D, which took me all the way to

realized that perhaps I'm the cause of the problem. Specifically, the error
occurs after the following steps:
1) In "Software Sources", enable a new source (e.g. ppa.launchpad development
package), close, and reload.

I have upgraded to Intrepid on a new Asus P5Q-EM motherboard with Intel
G45 hardware.
This problem still exists for me in both the version 9.xx in the repos

I have this problem as well in Hardy full updates on a Dell X1.
I use US, Latin American and Japanese layouts. I have three problems:
1) Alt+alt switching does not work (I have enabled LAlt+LShift which works)
2) "Show keyboard layout" opens a window, but no keyboard is shown.
3) Japanese SCIM
I have Gutsy 7.10 with full updates as of today (Apr 22). I also found
that transcriber and wavesurfer have choppy playback.
