The newest 10.10 RC has changed the manner in which shell script files are
executed. It requires that the script file be flagged as executable.
This is perhaps better than prior practice in ubuntu 9.04 and many other
distributions of linux and unix. However, it does require change to the scripts
That make sense.
I don't know the implications for millions of script files that would
require setting of the executable bit.

The previous version of the one-click (which I have saved in a vfat
volume) does not show the '-' in the properties context menu for
Pharo.sh.

On a new partition I installed OpenSolaris - runs very well with the same
firefox windows and tabs
On a new partition I installed ubuntu 10.10 beta - seems to run, but I
noticed some artifacts in a web page that should not be there
I am testing 10.10 beta with the prob

I would characterise the behaviour of the mouse as stick. Once the
'mouse-down' is detected, the 'mouse up' is delayed causing a lot of
problems with hovering over icons, scrollbar sticking, highlight
misbehavior.
The new driver seems peppier, but has many similar problems as the
former version (.
I notice that when I click on an application on the toolbar, the icon
changes as expected to a spinning wheel. Prior to this update I was not
able to see this action.
The UI seems better; I will continue to test.

Seems like the UI is more responsive; I will do more testing. It appears that
the problem had to do with duration of the mouse down after a single click.
Unfortunatelly, because I was banging hard and repeatedly on my mouse button,
it broke. This is a Dell Inspiron 8200,
Today 9/21/2010 I applied updates offered by ubuntu, among them a new
version of the driver 96.96.43.18 (up from .17). I will be testing to
see if this version improves matters.

I have created an additional user, shutdown, and rebooted the machine.
The resulting desktop's contents is much reduced (as expected) - connected to
wireless required me to enter the password to my pop.

The situation for me is that I inadvertently removed tomboy.
I then reinstalled using synaptic paickage manager - but it still gives me that
same error
Removal and install via apt-get does not improve the problem.

I am unable to duplicate the situation. I think that it has to do with the sort
on the Date column. If the date element is not present, the time is not sorted
correctly. When the time is only presented the date should be implied to be
'today'
