Correction, I have done `/usr/bin/apport-collect 631130` and it supposedly has provided the information you required. This was with the help of yo...@#ubuntu-bugs
** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Ubuntu 10.04, package not identified. I have reported in forum 'http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9782591#post9782591'. I have a gtktest result of 28.04. The machine is old (Dell Inspiron 8200 1G memory, 100GB disk, running NVIDIA version 96), with three five partitions, Windows XP, Windows 7, ubuntu 10.04, /home and /swap. Significantly: 1. Machine runs Windows XP and windows 7 peppily and well (same firefox load of tabs) 2. Machine used to run 9.04 well (but with no skype) 3. Install of 9.10 retaining /home results in sluggish UI 4. Install of 9.04 retaining /home results in good performance on UI, until Update Manager suggested to update which I did. Result same sluggish UI as in 9.10. Update manager suggests to upgrade. 5. Upgrade to 10.04 fails to boot. 6. Install 10.04 from .iso retaining /home. Result is sluggish UI . but I have a functioning Skype I have also tried all new distribution of Suse 11.3, Fedora 11, Mandrake, XMint, with the same sluggish problems. So now I am suspecting Xorg or the Kernel. My first hunch is new changes for multi-touch have screwed thing up. - ubuntu-bug and aport want a package identified, I am unable to identify - package + ubuntu-bug and aport want a package identified, I am unable to identify package + --- + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + DkmsStatus: nvidia-96, 96.43.17, 2.6.32-24-generic, i686: installed + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) + Lsusb: + Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + MachineType: Dell Computer Corporation Inspiron 8200 + NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia + Package: xorg 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 + PackageArchitecture: i386 + PccardctlIdent: + Socket 0: + no product info available + Socket 1: + no product info available + PccardctlStatus: + Socket 0: + 3.3V 32-bit PC Card + Socket 1: + no card + ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-24-generic root=UUID=014eafc1-47ab-4823-a392-9565c872c724 ro quiet splash + ProcEnviron: + LANG=en_US.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.42-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 + Tags: lucid lucid + Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic i686 + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 01/07/2004 + dmi.bios.vendor: Dell Computer Corporation + dmi.bios.version: A11 + dmi.board.name: Inspiron 8200 + dmi.board.vendor: Dell Computer Corporation + dmi.chassis.type: 8 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Dell Computer Corporation + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnDellComputerCorporation:bvrA11:bd01/07/2004:svnDellComputerCorporation:pnInspiron8200:pvr:rvnDellComputerCorporation:rnInspiron8200:rvr:cvnDellComputerCorporation:ct8:cvr: + dmi.product.name: Inspiron 8200 + dmi.sys.vendor: Dell Computer Corporation + glxinfo: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + system: + distro: Ubuntu + codename: lucid + architecture: i686 + kernel: 2.6.32-24-generic -- In all apps, slow UI since 10.04 install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631130 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
