Contrary to what kklimonda claims, the behavior of 10.10 with respect to script files is incorrect and therefore a bug. A file with a '#!' in the first line identifies it as an executable script file to be excute by a shell interpreter.
All previous to ubuntu 10. xx recognize such files as executable irrespective of their executable permission, and the way that other linuces and unix work. With kklimonda we have downloaded the pharo one-click image that demonstrates the problem. The context menu of Pharo.sh does not pop up 'Open' when I right click on the file name. If I set the executable permission on the file, it does. -- Shell scripts require execute permission to execute https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/652470 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
