I confirm this bug. This seems to have the same source issue as
described in bug #157512: I have done a strace and at crash the library
libdba680li.so appears and after installing openoffice.org-base the
problem is solved.

I confirm this behavior. I followed all given steps and Writer crashes.
Then recovery is launched and after clicking on button "Start recovery",
the dialog box titled "Input field", which produced the crash, reappears
and must be closed to finish recovery.

First, these tow packages do not belong to ubuntu distribution. So, for
reporting a bug related specifically to Ubuntu, it should not involve external
packages. But I don't think it's that which causes troubles.

I have the same behaviour with CUPS. There is no trouble with this.
HPLIP is not responsible of this behaviour. A quick search leads me to files
/usr/lib/cups/backend/epson and /usr/lib/cups/backend/canon which belong to
cupsys-driver-gutenprint package containing CUPS drivers. I don't think this
Txwikinger is right in its explanations of my intentions for this bug report,
it is for consistency with all others usages of hwclock command in the script
(I'm sorry, I should have explain that in my report). It's not critical, and
again less critical in this case because the flag is "--adjust"
