Just a note regarding the disk controller:
It seems LSI SAS 1068 has serious issues with the 9.10 amd64 server
release candidate kernel, I encounter offlining of the system disk on a
HP ProLiant DL140 G3 during installations with that LSI Logic
controller. Sometimes the system disk can be reactiva
)
The USB stick can be used to boot the machine, log in and run "grub-
install /dev/sdb", which fixes the problem.

i seem to have watershed installed since my upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04:

P.S., using the bootwait option in /etc/fstab removed the need to
manually switch back from gdm on tty7 to tty1, prior to todays

When I switch back to tty1 with Ctrl+Alt+F1, I have the same situation
as Pete - I usually need several attempts to enter the passphrase.

copy operations fail after 100 to 1000 MiB
with the kernel logging

Please raise the importance of this bug, because _every_ European Ubuntu
user with a printer has to change the print settings _every single time_
