My suggestion is to try 24.10 and use kernel 6.11. That fixed all my
problems with flicker.

As a few people pointed to this bug report, just a few comments.

XUbuntu 24.04 (at least) says: "Thunderbird is now distributed as a Snap

I'm not sure why the user authentication is failing for you with
go-l2tp's kl2tpd, you could try disabling all of the authentication
methods in the PPP settings other than MSCHAPv2.
You could also try switching to xl2tpd and see if you have the same

picker popup window. The workaround to recover from this condition is

Similar situation. Upgraded to xubutnu 20.04 LTS. My primary use of this
system is ssh and RDP as I'm rarely in the same room. There is a monitor

Enabling the screen reader in GNOME and using it with any browser leads
to occasional glitches and crashes.
Firefox, for example, crashed and asked me to file a crash report to Mozilla.
GNOME Web just restarted itself out of nowhere, same as Chromium.
The arrow up/down navig
This released on Bionic and Hirsute a week ago, but Focal still has
Rustc 1.47.0. Is there a reason for that?
(1.51 also doesn't seem to be in any of the Focal branches on
https://code.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rustc, but I don't entirely
know how the workflow for package releases works.)

I'm now using Ubuntu 21.04 hirsute, and this bug can no longer be
reproduced :) Kernel 5.11.0-25-generic.
I've done 3 tests. No crashes so far.

This was a reinstall after Ubuntu 20.04 boot crashes after a recent
update. The same install options were selected for this reinstall.
Ubuntu had worked for months but after an update a month n or so ago it
always crashed at boot between the ubuntu logo and rotating circle's
shutoff and the login s
So, I've questions about this bug if it comes from firefox, or mutter,
or wayland because every time I try use Firefox 88 the Wayland session
freezes and nothing else works besides Magic Key to restart my machine.
