Same problem here. It only occurs when a contact changes status. I could
reproduce it by running pidgin with another account in parallel. When a
MSN contact goes from online to offline, or from offline to online,
empathy segfaults. When the MSN contact changes to another status (away,
busy) empathy
Actually, none of the calendar preferences in the "Calendar and Tasks"
get applied.

I did some debugging and noticed empathy is looking for the icon
notification-message-im.svg but can't find it.
I made following symlinks to solve the problem:
* Go to /usr/share/icons/Humanity/actions/16
* sudo ln -s im-message-new.svg notification-message-im.svg

I would like to add that the "dead" white pixels are not limited to the
url bar, but also afect the rest of the firefox user interface (dialog
boxes in the preferences menu,...). So it seems this might be a XUL
problem?

Correction to my previous post: the system doesn't respond to key and
mouse presses, but the mouse cursor still moves.

I confirm this bug. I've experienced the crashes several (5 times) when
double-clicking on an mp3 in Xubuntu Hardy. Totem opens and the complete
system freezes (keyboard and mouse not responding anymore).
The freezes also occur when trying to open mp3's with Exaile.
