[Bug 449604] Re: Trash icon likely to be removed; cannot restore it

2009-11-07 Thread cprise
Pronouncing something "quite clear" doesn't make it so, esp. without any discussion of the semantic issue. But if you insist, we can all say the words look and sound different and so offer a "clear" choice. ''If you really think this a KDE UI bug you should report this upstream: http://bugs.kde.or

[Bug 449604] [NEW] Trash icon likely to be removed; cannot restore it

2009-10-12 Thread cprise
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase Dolphin has a context menu for the Trash icon that includes "Remove Trash". I'm having trouble with people clicking on this when trying to empty their trashcan: They think (perhaps rightly) that "remove trash" means "empty the trash". So their tra

[Bug 427701] [NEW] OpenVPN client always runs

2009-09-10 Thread cprise
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openvpn OpenVPN is being run at startup automatically, preventing desktop (client) users from easily running and stopping it as a client: the original OpenVPN instance is blocking. NOTE: The (kubuntu 9.04 AMD64) systems this problem pertains to have had

[Bug 218202] Re: [hardy] numlockx does not turn num lock keyboard light on.

2008-07-17 Thread cprise
I can verify Wouter's experience: For KDE the NUMLOCK light operates backwards or opposite the actual keypad behavior. A workaround is to manually edit /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc and immediately after [X-*-Greeter] add NumLock=On. Save and restart KDM. -- [hardy] numlockx does not turn num lock keyboar

[Bug 213279] Re: cryptsetup: source device not found during boot

2008-05-13 Thread cprise
I want to report that less than a week ago, this issue re-appeared for me as an _intermittant_ problem. After failing to find the drive, it seems to be able to boot normally if I warm-reboot with Ctrl-Alt-Del. The rest of you should try that, or using your system reset switch if available. -- cry

[Bug 103173] Re: [totem-xine] DVD will not play

2008-03-28 Thread cprise
After upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04beta I had the same problem. Creating a /dev/dvd symlink fixed the problem. HOWEVER, it seems like neither Kaffeine nor Ubuntu are doing due diligence here: First, Kaffeine's method of finding DVD drives obviously isn't smart at all. Second, this latest version of
