Thrash,
You have to download Also Firware from the ALSA site and then with the
right tools compile your own firmware. This is fairly straight forward
if you follow the instructions but it is a pain in the ass having to do
it.
Once the Alsa-Firmware is installed then sopund will be working fine.
Same for the Echo Audio firmwares. Bloody annoying that their firmware
is not included in the Alsa Firmware package for Ubuntu.

Thanks for that, wierd about the regression but as long as things are

Will look further into the sound issue and lodge a report as needed.

Ok, done as requested and added the txt files you requested.

Seems to be an issue with ata1 in the boot process.
Fails both softreset and hardreset.
No idea about this one and I have not been able to find any log reports
specific to that kernel when I boot in a earlier kernel.
Could this be an initramfs problem?

Hello Ben,
Here is a output of dmesg from the next successful boot but I didn't
comment out splash and quiet from my grub boot menu.
I trust that wouldn't effect the output of dmesg if so then let me know
and I will see what happens.
This problem is not as annoying as with kernel 2.6.19-2 as I g

Funny that,
It was fine up till the 20th but some recent updates have seen the
re-introduction of this problem where the kernel stalls when trying to
memory map to PCI devices again. At least it doesn't take as much to get
it booting as last time (boots on 2nd or 3rd try now not 5th or 6th) but
Hello,
Using Deluge which with the recent fixes seems to be working fine.

Adding that for both kernels 2.6.17 and 2.6.19 generic, there are no
firmware loaders happening for Echo Gina3G's either.
My temp solution has been to compile alsa-firmware loaders from source but this
really should be happening with packages.
Would be great if the alsa-firmware loaders included

Not a real show stopper but quite often when booting Feisty 64 I get the
