I now switched back to the account that showed the bug before, but can not
reproduce the issue in this account any more.
So as
I also have the impression that this is due to malformed data on the
server. I created a new Ubuntu One account to test this. With the new
account syncing works flawlessly, while on the old account it always
failed.

both running Lucid.
I did manage to sync successfully some while ago, but I think that was on
Karmic. I'm not sure if I ever had a successful sync on Lucid.

yes. much better! In fullscreen it fits perfectly -- in window mode it still
doesn't quite fit, due to the panel. But I also don't know what the desired
solution there would be.

- change desktop effects from custom to none in appearance
- change back to custom.
- confirm the message that you want to keep the settings.
- jockey crashes.

I can confirm this bug on my current hardy install (all updates as of march 15).
I am on 32 bit, interestingly enough also running fglrx on an mobility X1600,
but as the OP also tried the open source drivers this does not seem to be the
problem.

Booting the Feisty Herd 2 live CD (The same already happend on the Edgy
Live CD) I get a very 'weird' looking X11, i.e. everything is smeard
