Public bug reported: Booting the Feisty Herd 2 live CD (The same already happend on the Edgy Live CD) I get a very 'weird' looking X11, i.e. everything is smeard from bottom left to top right. This means the splash screen on login becomes a parallelogramm, and the mouse cursor is basically a line about 3cm long and 1 mm wide, the left end being lower than the right end. The screen is completely unreadable.
This occurs on a Samsun X60 Notebook with ATI X1600 graphics card and 1680x1050 native resolution. xorg.conf correctly lists the 1680x1050 as modes, but uses the vesa driver which apparently can't handle that resolution. Changing the resolution in xorg.conf to say 1024x768 and restarting X11 helps. I also tried setting the driver to radeon which did not work, but that might have been my mistake. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- X not configured correctly for 1680x1050 https://launchpad.net/bugs/78933 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
