A quick update I can still only boot the Samsung R560 with AMD64 if I use the acpi=off boot parameter (only using this one at the moment, I do try it without after each new update). I have applied all the patches and updates that come down from the usual ubuntu amd64 repositories and the problem

Yup there both real bugs and the same problem manifests with both packages gqo and bomberclone. I actually added an item manually, but thought that the packagers might want the feedback and the opportunity to put the polish on. Compared to the effort to get the app there in the first place it see
