Ok guys. I get pretty much the similar.
At boot up you get the initial menu and when you choose any of either the install or live options you get a message claiming he Kernel is live and then the machine reboots. Using the following downloaded install CD's Ubuntu Hardy AMD64, 8.04.1, Desktop, Standard Ubuntu Hardy AMD64, 8.04.1, Desktop, Alternative Ubuntu Intrepid AMD64, Alpha5, Desktop, Standard. The machine is a Samsung R560 Core 2 Duo Processor, Notebook. The atempts with Intrepid are just about the same, except you get an aditional message after the kernel is live saying the kernel is realy alive, then reboots...... I386 seems to boot up OK. As it is a 64 bit machine though I would realy like to use 64 bit and could do with it for 64bit vmware machines. -- Kernel panic on install on amd64 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/54020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
