One other approach is to re-symlink resolv.conf to
/run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf but openconnect then update
/run/resolvconf/resolv.conf making this a total mess.

I think I have found all related info on this bug... it's actually
being caused by empathy not asking to accept the CA certificate at
connection time. Therefore you need to have a local copy of your(s) OC
server(s) certificate(s).

I have to say that since I upgraded to 14.10 I've been having tons of

Yes, with that kernel boot option it's finally working (moving and
left/right clicking) !
As a side note, it may even work better when synaptic xorg driver 1.8 gets
released and included in Ubuntu:

echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger
AFAIK not reboot -f.
Now, it's not like reboot -f had been triggerred at the millisecond
where th update-grub or kernel upgrade process has been completed... or
used in conju
+1 ;)
Seriously, there is no reason why, when flushing disk cache through
reboot -f, makes grub being corrupted afterwards.
BTW, using the install CD when I do the recovery procedure i'm still
using reboot -f. Mount options perhaps?
Although, nothing special in here...

Today I updated the kernel to 3.5.0-18-generic and resulted into a grub
rescue again with a message "ELF smaller than expected".
Again, booted using the live-cd (old 11.10 version), ensure to have
network access through the GUI then hit CTRL-ALT-F1 to get to a shell

Thnx for the tip. Although, Language Support requires the user to not
only set it's language in KDE but also using this utility...
Still , I agree that the language selector should be there as default.

1- Failure to reconfigure grub properly OR update the init image when invoked

Extending the waiting time for DHCP netcfg/dhcp_timeout=120
(installation option) or ensure portfast is activated on the gigabit
