between 12.04 up to 14.10 the grub update process being invoked at every kernel upgrades eventually disapeared... Note that I did had to boot using live cd image at multiple occasions and force reinstall of either grub or kernel on my system (after having done multiple manual bind- mount over dev, proc and others so the dpkg process works ok).
Now all kernel updates works flawlessly. I could potentially reproduce by reinstalling 12.04/12.10 and re-upgrade but i don't whish to go that route. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1183392 Title: package grub-pc 2.00-14ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1183392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
